GCSE Exam Results Day 2018

Pupils delighted with excellent GCSE Results

Excellent GCSE results at Virgo Fidelis this year show that the school’s commitment to driving up standards is really working. Girls were delighted with their GCSEs today, which show a massive improvement with especially top rate results in STEM subjects. This is such an accolade in a girls’ only environment.

In spite of the fact that these GCSEs are more rigorous and demanding than ever before, the girls rose to the challenge and consequently were very successful indeed.

Even though the new Government measures mean that level 9s at GCSE are virtually unattainable, many Virgo students still managed to do exactly that, including Amy Cheung who achieved 7 level 9s across a range of subjects, as well as Tahreem Sattar who got 6. The staff were keen to praise girls such as Saanvi Gupta who only arrived in the UK from India in December 2017, having not studied any of the appropriate specifications before, yet she still achieved 11 GCSEs including 3 level 8s and 2 level 9s!

The new Headteacher, Mrs Meyer, said “The girls should be truly proud of themselves. These results are wonderful and clearly show what can be done with hard work and a sustained academic focus. The school will go from strength to strength and I feel privileged to be working with the community here. Well done to all!
