Students who do not fulfill these criteria will need to demonstrate that they have the interest and ability to meet the demands of the course, otherwise students will find it difficult to pass this subject.

Course content includes six fashion units

Unit 1: Art and Design

Unit 50: Fashion Design

Unit 51: Fashion Production

Unit 52: Textile Design

Unit 53: Up – Cycling

Unit 54: Fashion Illustration

Assessment Method

Project work and portfolios are centre-assessed by teachers and externally moderated by an OCR Visiting Examiner.

This course gives students the opportunity to build portfolios of project work which they use to gain entrance into art colleges for design. Offers of places are often given on the strength of the artwork in the portfolio alone.

Students can then specialise in many aspects of design, buying or marketing of products.
