There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. It has been designed to meet the needs of learners from the age of 16 years.
What does the qualification cover?
This course has been developed in collaboration with the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY).
This qualification prepares learners to set up a home based childcare setting. It is also suitable for learners who wish to be employed in home based childcare settings as child minders or other home child carers.
The course includes the following compulsory units:
Unit 1: Preparing to work as a home based child minder
Unit 2: Prepare to set up a home based childcare business
This qualification will be internally assessed using a range of assessment methods. This could include a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE.
What will I gain?
CACHE Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare.
On successful completion of the CACHE Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare, students will be able to work as
• Child minders
• Child minding assistants
• Au pairs
Other childcare’s in home based settings. The subjects covered in this Award will make a useful introduction to CACHE’s Early Years Educator qualifications.
