Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth
and the Life" (John 14:6)
The Chaplaincy at Virgo Fidelis seeks to contribute
to the development in which all members of the school
community encounter God and the Church. Our work is to
seek out opportunities for this in all aspects of school
life. It is our aim that the expression of the Roman
Catholic tradition within the school is a positive
experience.
Prayer is at the heart of the life of our school. As
a Roman Catholic school in the Diocese of Southwark, we
celebrate together the God who has called us into being
and who continues to give us life.
Mass is celebrated by the whole school in the Church
and by individual classes in the school Chapel
throughout the year. We also pray for the school and all
its students and staff, as well as the needs of the
world, every evening in the Convent Chapel.
Staff and students are able to receive the Sacrament
of Reconciliation before Christmas and Easter. Year 7
and 8 students are given an opportunity to spend
half-a-day in retreat in the Convent Chapel. Once a week
a group of Sixth Formers come together during lunch
break to discuss and share faith experience.
Any student who would like to meet with the Chaplin
individually to discuss prayer or talk through her faith
is most welcome. |
