Written paper – 45 minutes 40% Scenario issued to centres in advance of the examination

Unit 2: The Active Participant

Controlled assessment 60% 2 assessments from 2 different sports groups at least 1 as a performer

Long Course 4892

Unit 3: Knowledge and understanding for the Active Participant

Written paper – 1 hour and 30 minutes 40% Scenario issued to centres in advance of the examination

Unit 4: The Active Participant

Controlled assessment 60% 4 assessments from 2 different sports groups at least 2 as a performer

Assessment

All PE teachers are responsible for assessment.  This will be based on each physical activity the pupil completes.  The new year 7’s are assessed on their abilities to provide baseline data for future predicted grades.

When 

  • Pupil’s abilities in PE are assessed and recorded at the end of each Scheme of Work.

How 

  • Pupils work is marked by the PE teacher at the end of each unit.
  • Peer assessment
  • Observations made by the teacher
  • Verbal comments made in class discussions, particularly in plenaries.
  • Intuitive judgements made by the teacher.
