Religious Education at Virgo Fidelis Convent Senior School

Religious Education is taught throughout the school. It is a core subject in the curriculum and seeks to promote the spiritual, moral and liturgical aspects of the students’ lives.

In keeping with the ethos of Virgo Fidelis, the Religious Education programme reflects the teaching and practice of the Catholic Church, whilst recognising also the respect, understanding and appreciation due to those students who adhere to different faiths.

Religious Education is valued for its academic standards. All students proceed to take the GCSE in Religious Studies. Some students take this exam at the end of Year 10.

Prayer is an important part of the life of the school. Each school session begins with prayer and there are opportunities throughout the school year for regular acts of worship in Year Assemblies, Class Assemblies and Masses, whole school Masses and other celebrations which reflect the Church’s liturgical year.
