Parvathi arrived even more recently, joining the school at the beginning of year 11. After only one  year of study she achieved a 9 in Maths, 7 and 5 in English Literature and Language, A* in Physics, and As in RE, Biology, Chemistry and Geography. Mariam has been a pupil since year 7 and achieved 8s in English Language and Maths, a 7 in English Literature, A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Physic and RE, and As in French, History and Statistics.

Sr. Bernadette was emotional on leaving the school on such a high note.  “I am so proud of the achievements of the girls and staff. They have worked so hard to achieve these results. I am also delighted to be handing the school over the excellent care of the new headteacher, Ms Jocelyn Lewis. I know the school will go from strength to strength.”

Sixth Form Exam Celebrations

New Head of Sixth Form Mrs Edwards is extremely happy with the improved A Level results and celebrated with students at Virgo Fidelis Catholic Senior School Sixth Form today, as students collected results today in their A Level, AS Level and Vocational courses.

91.3% of students of all abilities passed a wide variety of subjects at A Level, with 98.2% of students passing vocational subjects such as CACHE Level 3, Btec Level 3 and OCR Nationals. Students gained the best set of results in the last 5 years with 31.8% of students gaining A*-B, up from 15% last year.

A number of subjects achieved a 100% pass rate including Art, Business Studies, Dance, English Literature, Media Studies and Spanish. Classical civilisation, Film Studies, French and History all achieved 100% A*-C.

Many students who applied achieved their first choice university. At A2 Level, there were some excellent individual successes with one student achieving A*AAB, she is going on to study Biomedical Science at Queen Mary’s University.

36 students studied CACHE Level 3 with 100% pass rate, many of these students had a significantly lower average point score at GCSE than the National Average so have made fantastic progress during their time in the Sixth Form.

There are a number of significant personal achievements. One example is a student who joined the 6th form without any GCSE grades and has achieved a C in Sociology and a D in Philosophy and Ethics as well as gaining her GCSE Maths.  Another example is Khrystyna Muzyka a yr. 11 student who gained an A in AS Level Russian. Phoebe Cray achieved an A for CACHE level 3 Diploma and will be going to Norland College to study childcare.

Chair of Governors Femi Oresanya is very proud of all of the student’s results and thanks the Head Teacher and Staff for their continued work to raise standards at Virgo Fidelis Catholic Senior School.

As Sister Bernadette retires she said “Congratulations to all of our students and I wish them every success and happiness in their future endeavours. I would also like to express my thanks to our dedicated teachers and support staff who have supported the students to enable them to achieve their potential. I look forward to the school continuing to flourish under the leadership of the new Head Teacher Ms Jocelyn Lewis.

Sixth Form Exam Success 2017

Hugely improved exam results overall, tremendous personal achievements and hopes for a wonderful future - these are the successes of our outgoing Sixth Formers this year. In the midst of high-flying academic success are the stories of great progress and pastoral care: the student who battled with multiple surgeries passed her CACHE exam. Another student who joined with no GCSE grades and has achieved A Level success. Virgo Fidelis treats each student as an individual and supports them to reach their potential. We wish them all a wonderful future.

Students interested in joining our Sixth Form should contact the school directly on 0208 655 9089 to make an appointment. We are interviewing and enrolling every day and would be delighted to meet you to see what we can offer you.
